Your computer can look a lot more elegant with a computer armoire. With fine wood finishing, it will look nice in that corner of your home.
After I got myself a computer armoire, my work seems to be more organized. That is one of the most important reasons why you should get yourself a computer armoire. And when done working - just store the computer away.
A computer armoire would help you in organizing your home office. With cabinets, racks that is built-in the armoire, you would definitely have a lot space to store you disk, CDs, printers and any other computer stuffs. And when you are done working, just close the door and put it away.
In choosing the right computer armoire, you need to identify how much stuff that you might want to keep in there. Normally, there's the computer monitor, CPU and the printer. Estimating the size of the computer components and make sure that all that can fit into your computer armoire of choice.
Well, I just want remind you of that. Some people have the normal 14" or the 15" monitor. But some have a 17" or maybe even a 19".
Apart from all that, consider other storing spaces. You may need some place to stack those CDs or diskettes. And you may even want a place where you can put away some documents that you are working with at the moment.
Since computer armoires are made for computers, you don't have to worry much about the weight. Computer armoires should be able to withstand any weight from a normal computer. Just make sure that you have one computer for one armoire. Some people might be on the look for antique armoires to turn into computer armoires. Simply don't do that. You could just destroy the invaluable antique. Make sure you are really using a computer armoire designed for computers.
Size and making sure it fits is one thing. Making sure that it fits into your home is another. Consider the color of your wall and your floor before selecting the computer armoire. You may also want to consider the color of your window frame, especially if it's going to be near any window.
